Not long now we’re on our way !! We are welcoming our first guests on May 18th.
The Linen is all stacked up in the cupboard , beds are made and the rooms are waiting .
We have spent the last few weeks tidying up and repainting the front doors a nice new green. We have a lovely new sign hanging outside the B&B.
It’s been a very wet and windy start to the month so here’s hoping that summer weather will be on the way soon. We are fully booked for May and only a few days left in June so it’s all go ! Any cancellations with last minute dates becoming available we will post on Facebook so if you missed the boat keep your eyes peeled.
Holiday cottages have been filling up through April and it’s been good to see the village starting to come back to life again .
We have welcomed another grandchild , a little boy born in April , so good times are returning .
There is a new shop in Askrigg , Heather and Grouse run by a group of Dales Artists and craftspeople , well worth a visit .
The Bake-Well Deli has continued to be busy since opening again and has been supplying us all with great home baking and ready cooked meals. Don’t forget this when you come to stay now that we have our new self catering facilities there is everything you need.
The village shop Sykes Store is a well stocked shop selling groceries, fresh milk eggs , newspapers and more .
Don’t forget our three fabulous pubs. The Crown Inn , just over the road from us . The White Rose in the middle of the village and The Kings Arms at the bottom of the village. Fondly referred to by locals as Top, Middle, Bottom , just so you know if you ask about the pubs in Askrigg !! They all serve great home cooked food and also some do Take Away as well.
So if you're heading for the Yorkshire Dales we think Askrigg just about has it all and the village is waiting to welcome everyone.
