About Milton House

Milton House is owned and managed by Joanna Benbow. Jo came to Askrigg in 1998 with her late husband, Kevin, and has run several successful hospitality ventures in the area. She purchased Milton House in 2016 and has since transformed it from a traditional B&B to the luxurious studio apartments that are now available to book. Her flair for interior design is evident, and the apartments are a welcome addition to the range of accommodation on offer.

Jo’s children still live in Askrigg and she now has three beautiful grandchildren. Her partner, Bernie, was born locally, and always has a story or two to tell if you bump into him at his favourite hostelry.

Askrigg is a beautiful village and Jo is an established part of the local community, she will be able to answer any questions you may have and looks forward to hearing from you.

Our Location

Askrigg is a Yorkshire Dales Village of character. With its tall three storied houses, leading up the sloping street from St Oswalds Church, which itself has origins as far back as the 12th century.

There are 3 pubs in the Village serving food at lunch time and evenings.

Kings Arms Hotel with a traditional bar, serving meals in the Bar or Restaurant lunch times and evenings.

The Middle House Hotel has a cosy bar, pool room, conservatory restaurant and Beer Garden. Meals served lunchtime and evening.

The Crown Inn which is just over the road Cosy Bar with open fires, lunch time and evening meals. They also do hot take out home cooked meals. We have a local local deli The Bake-Well that sell all manner of pies quiches salads and home cooked take away meals, delicious cakes and bread.

We might be biased but we really do think that Askrigg is the perfect place to base your stay in the Yorkshire Dales. We give our guests so many tips they’re often soon back to see us to fit in more of our local sights!
