I can’t believe December is here and what a busy year it has been. We have had lots of lovely new visitors and welcomed back lots of old friends as well. Running our B&B in the our beautiful little Yorkshire Dales village of Askrigg is such a lovely way to earn a living and we count ourselves very lucky to be able to do it.
As always, a new month brings a new special offer. We have a secret deal running throughout December to make a trip to see us even more tempting but it’s only available when booked directly through our website just here. (Link to booking page). We’re already looking ahead into 2020 too as if you book before New Year and you will benefit from our 2019 reduced rate! We have some great offers on the Bank Holiday weekends too, although you’ll have to be quick to benefit from one of those as we’re already filling up!
This Christmas we’re looking forward to a break at home, taking the time to re-charge after a very busy year. However, there’s no rest for the wicked as we’re back open and fully booked for New Year! One of our returning guests has already booked their room for next year too so they don’t miss out on their favourite room.
There are some lovely local events happening in the run-up to Christmas and we look forward to them every year. Richmond Christmas market has been running for a few years now and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger! This year it is taking place on the 8th of December. Francis Smaller Fudge are once again having a stall so if you missed out on trying some of their fudge in our competition you can get your sugary fix by stopping by to see them there!
The Christmas fair right here in Askrigg is lovely too. Ran by the primary school in November it took over the village hall and is full of lots of great gifts and really gets you in the Christmas spirit! It was lovely to see it do really well this year.
Askrigg also hosts an annual Christmas tree festival and advent windows. We are once again joining in and you’ll find us at number 2 on the advent window trail. The event transforms Askrigg into a gorgeous Christmas postcard along with the giant tree standing tall on the Market Cross-we just love it.
Finally, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for all of your support throughout 2019 and we’re looking forward to another great year here ay Milton House in 2020!
