Well we are continuing to carry on here in Askrigg everyone is behaving and there is good community spirit.
It will be a strange May as Askrigg is always buzzing and we have our lovely village sports and fancy dress parade and the scarecrows around the village on the May bank holiday weekend so it’s going to be a very quiet affair this year with nothing going on.
However, it is lovely to see how our community has pulled together to make sure those most vulnerable are looked after and local businesses have completely changed what they offer to be able to cater for everyone and keep their spirits up.
Time is spent cleaning carpets and like a lot of people a big focus on food and baking. The dogs are loving all the attention and the walks, they often get a bonus walk as people from the village will borrow them too! We are making the best of the situation and are keeping our heads up and getting on with things. At times it’s nice to just feel 5 minutes of calm but we can’t wait for the B&B to filled with the chatter of guests and to see neighbours wandering up to the pub for a pint.
So pleased to still be getting little messages from our guests it’s lovely to keep in touch and we just look forward to the day that they can return. So for now I will sign off and just say to everyone take care and hope to see you soon.
